Welcome to the home page for thread research at the Center for Supercomputing, Research and Development. Our current project, Nanothreads, is a new, light-weight thread model and its operating system and user-level run-time support. The benefits we've experimentally found include:

• A new capability to resume a kernel preempted contexts in user-space.
• Efficient support for dynamic DAG-type parallelism on systems with varying multiprogramming loads.
• Improve overall system throughput with varying amounts of multiprogrammed workload.
